magaly060591 asked: Hi there :) I like you your blog. I also need some help. My family is a typical Mexican family so we eat stuff like tortillas, enchilada, posole, tamales etc. But I have been trying to change my diet to become fit and healthy. I am just beginning, so it been a great challenge, I just don't know what i'm supposed to be eating or buying because i have never known what other healthy options there is. Any suggestions on what i can do? also suggestions on how to start losing weight and getting fit?

Thank you! :D Ah yes, diet can be a challenge. Since you are new, may I suggest that you take it one step at a time. Let healthy eating integrate into your lifestyle.

I read that your family eats the typical Mexican food? I found this info online: http://www.fitbie.com/slideshow/12-ways-make-mexican-food-healthy. Perhaps, this can point you in the right direction.

Another important factor is your commitment to your exercise plan! I recommend at least 3x a week. Just keep track of your progress. Here’s a tip, measure your progress every 2 weeks. If weight loss is your goal and you are NOT losing weight, then you have to reduce your food portions OR increase your exercise frequency/intensity. Try it out and most importantly enjoy the process! :)

ihatebeingalone asked: Hello! I would like to ask if loosing weight equals to gaining muscle? Inspiring blog by the way! ;)))

Thanks for the kind words! :)

For your question: No. Losing weight is not equal to gaining muscle. In fact it is 2 opposite goals. When you gain muscle, you will gain weight, which is ‘muscle weight’. However, for starters, it is possible to lose weight (fat) and gain muscle at the same time.

For eg, you have 50kg muscle + 20kg fat = 70kg (weight)

With proper training & nutrition, your body fat & muscle ratio will change but net weight still the same.

For eg, you now have 60kg muscle + 10kg fat = 70kg (weight)

You’ll look way way way better in the 2nd example. Bottom line is, there’s no need to stress so much on the numbers on the scale. Use the mirror, they are the best judge.

Anonymous asked: The truth is that i am very lazy and i do nothing but when i do exercise it gives me weakness, sickness and shakes and i do stop doing them Please tell me why happens this and tips of how to resolve my problem I'm desperate

Are you undereating? As a rule of thumb, one should not be eating anything less than 1200 calories a day. Exercise should help you feel more refresh and energetic unlike what you stated above. Start slow by tweaking your diet first, add more veggies to your meals.  Drink lots of water. Also have some fruits daily. Give your immune system a much needed boost.

Anonymous asked: Hi just wondering the top 10 foods to help you get abs and also the top ten excersices for abs

I don’t have a top 10 food for abs. Haha. If you want to have abs, it’s about limiting your calories daily to shed fat. That’s all. Eat more low-gi carbs and vegetables. They help you feel full longer. For exercises, I have only 2 in mind that I swear by them. Pull-ups and Hanging Leg raises. :)

Hey, Thx for the kind words!! :D Here’s some simple tips to start a healthy diet. 1) For beverage, drink only Water or Green tea. 2) Eat whole, unprocessed foods. 3) Learn to read nutrition labels on food before purchasing. 4) Try to have some leafy green vegetables included in your meals. 5) Never eat until you’re too full but have more regular meals daily.

Hope that helps!
